Summary

We do not store your data (Inputs, Clicks, Notes or Drive files). It stays on Google’s servers. Granting us access to your data does not allow us to access it offline. This access is only used for the features functionality, the usage of the features comes from you.

We do not share or sell your data with any third party for commercial purposes. The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Introduction

Zoi TechCon GmbH ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy details the collection, usage, and sharing of your information when you utilize our Foura extension, which is designed to enhance your Gmail experience and allow you to add notes to individual email threads. By using Zoi's Foura you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Our Foura extension offers features that do not require users to register for an account or provide any personal information.

Google Account/Drive File Access: Foura requires access to your Google Drive to create files for storing notes. It only accesses specific files created by the extension or those to which it has been explicitly granted permission via the File Picker. Granting this access does not permit offline data retrieval.
Google Drive AppData Folder: Foura utilizes a file titled `appdata.json` within your hidden `appDataFolder` directory to record your chosen spreadsheet ID. This information is processed exclusively to maintain your configuration settings across different login sessions.
Local Data Storage: Any additional information necessary for Foura's functionality is kept locally within your web browser and is never transmitted to our servers.

1.1 Extension Permissions

Local Data Storage: This allows Foura to save information locally within your web browser (such as preferences or settings). This data is not transmitted to external servers and remains on your device until you manually clear your browser cache.
Google Drive Access: Foura uses this to create files where your notes are stored. It is designed to access only the specific files it creates or files you explicitly select via the File Picker. This access does not permit the extension to retrieve or access your data offline.
Google Drive AppData Folder: Foura stores the spreadsheet ID to ensure consistent settings across sessions.
Gmail Interface Modification: This permission allows Foura to integrate its features—such as adding notes to email threads—directly into the Gmail interface you interact with daily.

2. How We Use Your Information

File Creation and Processing: Foura only accesses Google Drive files to execute its core features and intended functionalities.

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties, except in the following circumstances:

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).

4. Data Retention

Google Account/Drive File Access: We do not store any data from your Google Drive beyond what is necessary for the immediate processing and functionality of Foura.
Google Drive App Data Folder: The data stored in your Google Drive `appDataFolder` is managed by you. If you wish to delete this data, you can do so by managing your hidden app data through your Google Drive settings, or by completely uninstalling our extension (which prompts Google Drive to remove the associated application folder).
Local Data Storage: Data stored locally within your web browser remains there until you manually delete it or clear your browser's cache. We do not transmit this locally stored data to our servers.

5. Data Security

Google Infrastructure: We rely on Google's robust security infrastructure to protect your data within Google Drive/Files.

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Your Choices

Extension Access: You can control Foura’s access to your Google Drive through Google Workspace's security and privacy settings.

7. Your Data Rights

We process data pursuant to Article 6 GDPR:

Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (Contract Performance): Necessary to fulfill our agreement with you and provide the requested functions of the extension.

Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Legitimate Interests): Necessary to maintain technical reliability and functional integrity of our service.

7.1 RIGHTS OF DATA SUBJECTS

Every data subject has the right to information under Art. 15 GDPR, the right to rectification under Art. 16 GDPR, the right to erasure under Art. 17 GDPR, the right to restriction of processing under Art. 18 GDPR, and the right to data portability under Art. 20 GDPR. In addition, there is a right of appeal to a data protection supervisory authority, Art. 77 GDPR.

7.2 RIGHT OF OBJECTION

If your personal data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests pursuant to Article 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data pursuant to Article 21 GDPR, provided that there are grounds for doing so that arise from your particular situation.

8. Children's Privacy

Zoi's Foura extension is not intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 18, we will delete such information promptly.

Foura provides the following features within Gmail:

Reverse conversation order
Show date and time in customisable format
Relocate the attachment area to precede message text within each individual email.
Enable the attachment of persistent notes to specific email conversations.

To use Foura, you must be:

At least 18 years old or have the legal capacity to form a binding contract.
In compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

3. User Account and Security
